Make this Father’s Day Memorable

We would like to celebrate YOU, Dads!!

Father's Day is a special day in the United States dedicated to honouring and celebrating fathers and father figures. Every year on the third Sunday in June, it is observed. The holiday allows people to express their love, appreciation, and gratitude to fathers for their contributions to their families and society. This year on June 18, 2023, Father's Day will be observed.

We could not exist in this world without our fathers. They have always been that one trustworthy man in our lives, and they have always treated us with a firm but loving hand. We have always looked up to them as role models over the years. We will never stop following in their footsteps and making the right decisions as they have taught us.

Father's Day originated in the United States in the early twentieth century, when Sonora Smart Dodd, inspired by Mother's Day, proposed the idea of a day to honour fathers.

On July 5, 1908, a West Virginia church sponsored the nation's first event explicitly honouring fathers, a Sunday sermon in memory of the 362 men killed the previous December in explosions at the Fairmont Coal Company mines in Monongah, but it was a one-time commemoration rather than an annual holiday.

Sonora Smart Dodd, one of six children raised by a widower in Spokane, Washington, attempted to establish an official equivalent to Mother's Day for male parents the following year. She approached local churches, the YMCA, business owners, and government officials for support, and she was successful: on June 19, 1910, Washington State observed the nation's first state-wide Father's Day.

So, on June 19, 1910, the first official Father's Day was observed in Spokane, Washington. It took several decades, however, for the day to gain national recognition and become a recognized holiday.

Happy Father’s Day to all dads in the world!

Every father serves as a good role model for his children. Father is crucial for the development of the family. Every father is a constant source of support and guidance for his or her child. It's a day to celebrate the contributions of fathers and the sacrifices they make for their children. Often, a father's sacrifices go unnoticed, and society ignores and undervalues his love and cares for his child. Father is someone who lets you experience life in your way while also pulling you up when you fall.

People in the United States express their love for fathers through various gestures on Father's Day. Families frequently spend the day together, doing things like going on outings, grilling, or cooking special meals. Children frequently give their fathers cards, gifts, or personalised items to express their love and gratitude. Ties, tools, gadgets, sports equipment, or items related to their fathers' hobbies or interests are popular gifts.

The celebration of Father's Day spread slowly across the country. However, according to History, Americans now spend more than $1 billion on Father's Day gifts each year.

Rainbow Sprinkle Snacking Cake

Sprinkle cakes are popular with everyone, including Dad. This dessert requires only 15 minutes of hands-on time and does not require a mixer, butter, or eggs. Instead, pantry staples like vegetable oil and white vinegar will be used. Dessert is ready when the cake is adorned with an easy-to-make cream cheese frosting and sprinkles.

Prepare the cake:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cooking spray an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, sprinkles, baking soda, and salt. Whisk in 1 cup cold water, oil, vanilla, and vinegar until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, rotating pan halfway through, until a wooden pick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Invert onto a wire rack, remove the parchment, and invert again so that the right side is up. Allow 1 hour to cool completely.

Many communities and organisations host Father's Day events and activities. These can include Father's Day breakfasts, concerts, races, or sporting events in which families can participate and make lasting memories. Some people use the occasion to pay their respects to deceased fathers by visiting cemeteries or holding memorial services.

We salute all the wonderful fathers who have touched the lives of many people, whether it was their own children, someone else's child, family, mentors, coaches, or the world at large.

Let us come together to honour the fathers and all they do for us.

Dad, we love you with all our hearts! As a father, you are a leader, a teacher, and a friend.

Have a wonderful Father’s Day!
